The National Western Stock Show attracts thousands of visitors every year to watch rodeos, livestock shows, and eat delicious foods. With so many people flowing through the stockyards in Denver, CO during January, Colorado State Extension created an agricultural education center. This year, I showed in the Highland Show at Denver, but made sure to stop at the agricultural education booth.

FFA students from nearby schools offered free tours of the stock show. Because we were short on time, I did not get a chance to take one of the tours, but I am sure they are super informational and interesting.
At the education center, there were displays with information on all different sectors of Colorado agriculture. The Colorado Pork Producers, potatoes, greenhouses, and many other places had a presence. One thing I found very interesting was growing sugar beets. After going through the center, I now have a better understanding.

As a future educator in agriculture, I loved seeing the variety of teaching materials and resources available to passers-by. The stands were informational, interactive, and short. As a future leader in agriculture, I now have a better understanding of ways to teach the public about agriculture through educational booths. I loved the National Western Stock Show and I reccomend it to anyone!!
