AEE 412: Weekly Investment 2

After a great week of introductions and learning more about some expectations for our final semester before student teaching, it is time to hit the ground running! After three readings for the week, I am excited to learn more in class. The focus question for this week is: How can we facilitate and design excellent teaching and learning?

From the readings Methods of teaching agriculture and The first days of school: How to be an effective teacher, I have 3 questions to ask.

1) For future school administrators: Since agricultural education has many dimensions needed for complete program, which component would you put the most importance on? As reference, the dimensions of a complete program are classroom instruction, application of learning, school laboratory, supervised experiences, FFA, use of community resources, facilities and organizations, people in the community, advisory committee, parents, teachers, and administrators.

2) For my university supervisor: "Learning is most likely to be used (transferred) if it is learned in a situation as much like that in which it is to be used as possible and immediately preceding the time when it is needed." is the fourteenth principal for learning; what exactly does it mean and how can we best benefit our students with this information?

3) For #psuaged20: Since we are going to have our "first day" of school with our students after knowing some of them already, what games/procedures/events are you going to do to learn the different student's names?

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog. Feel free to answer any of my questions or ask me any as well!! Onto week 2 we go!
