Anatomage Table in Anatomy and Physiology

This week, I had the opportunity to observe Mr. Mole in his Anatomy and Physiology Class. Through the use of the Anatomage table and x-ray images, students were responsible for identifying fractures, dislocations, and other problems in the skeletal system. Mr. Mole did a great job of not watching over the students like a hawk, but took more of a "I'll be there when you need me" approach.
When the students entered the room, they were instructed to pull up their assignment on their laptops and begin reading the information aloud. The objective of the class was super fun! The students were split into groups to act as X-Ray Technicians to discover the fractures, dislocations, and different problems with the different scans. It was a very inquiry-based lab approach. Mr. Mole said he front-ends the class with a lot of material and notes. After the students get a general understanding of what the system looks like, he brings them to the Anatomage table to practice labs.

I really enjoyed learning more about the Anatomage table. In a few weeks, I will be using the table for Natural Resource Management and Animal Science. Getting to see how teachers in other fields are using the table gave me a better understanding of how I can use it in agriculture classes. Thank you to Mr. Mole for letting me observe your Anatomy and Physiology Class!
