Thinking back to the start of this internship at Mid-Winter Convention, I never would have guessed my student teaching internship would look this way. As teachers, we are often asked to adapt, change, and do what is best for our students. Throughout this experience, I knew that I would be asked to adapt, modify lessons, and change to student situations, but never did I think I would need to teach full time in a digital manner to finish out my student teaching.
This week in student teaching, I taught some material for classes in food science, introduction to agriculture, and agribusiness. I found that researching for different materials for student use is fun! I like browsing through databases and different resources to find different items for students to work on. When people tell you not to reinvent the wheel, I take this very seriously! There are tons of teachers who have been teaching for a very long time who are willing to help share their experiences and knowledge. Using their resources and ideas help me to benefit my students.
In addition to teaching this week, I have been participating in the Ag Ed 360 in 60 sessions. I attended a session on plant science, natural resource management, and a "potluck" session. Each of these sessions were so much more help than I ever imagined! I am thankful to all of the teachers who helped share ideas and resources.
With next week as my last week in the virtual classroom, I am ready to go on an SAE visit through zoom, continue working with students, and participate in my last officer meeting for FFA. I am excited to see what my final week of student teaching holds!
